Kenton, over recent years, has found other ways to motivate and inspire himself. He is a keen cyclist and complete and utter fitness enthusiast. Whether getting stuck into a hotel gym instead of having a full English, or getting up at the crack of dawn to take on a CrossFit class so as not to wake the family at home, he always finds time to train.

Kenton has completed two Haute Routes (Geneva to Nice and Barcelona to Anglet), widely considered as some of the highest and toughest Cyclosportives in the world. Indeed, Kenton said climbing Mount Everest was ‘easy’ compared to the 485 mile Alps race taking in 19 Alpine cols and covering a massive 21,000m (69,000ft) of ascent in total. One of his favourite pastimes when not living life in the vertical is to take his bike out for long rides across the quaint and beautiful English Cotswolds.
